Robert Matthew Baxter

Matt began his training at Beverly Hills Studio, studying under Bob Bancfroft and Efren Ramirez. He then went on to further his study of Shakespeare with the Broadway Expressions Company. Subsequently, David “Harley” Freeman, of True West Stunts, chose to train Matt for his team in California. Matt concluded his training at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA) in New York City, working with Susan Pilar and Joel Brady for Acting and Camera and Jenn Smolos and MD Christopher McGovern for Voice and Musical Theater.
Matt began his professional career in the ensemble of Pirates of Penzance at the Landis Auditorium for Performance Riverside (CA), he then was flown to Japan to work for Disney on their Kirin National Dream Tour as a ballroom dancer and Prince Charming. While working for Disney in Tokyo he was asked to audition as a stuntman for Universal, Osaka, and subsequently moved to work on their various stunt productions including Terminator and One Piece. Universal also utilised Matt for their other productions as a ballet pas de deux dancer in their annual spectacular production choreographed by Vladislav Makarov and directed by Kahori Kanaya.
Matt’s on camera performances can be seen in the Dirty Soap trailer as Albertito for Hip Productions and in the Children’s Day special on NHK (Japan) for Tokyo Disney Resort.
Other theater performances include Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet for director Brenda Henson, ensemble and (u/s) Jesus in Godspell for Jodi Julian and Horse/ensemble in Equus for Gary Krinky.
During his time working as a stunt man for True West and Universal, Matt developed his skills in stage combat, sway pole, slide for life and as a high flyer. His previous stunt experience also includes; gun and knife twirling, sabre and foil combat, quarter staff, rolls, flips, stair falls, high falls, rope work, stage combat and jet ski. Matt is also an accomplished snow boarder, horse rider and all round sportsman.
